Green
Kennett was once a forest…
History of the Region
Within the glacial geology of Pennsylvania, Kennett is situated in the rolling hills of the Piedmont.
The pre-colonial landscape was old growth, mixed hardwood forests, includin riparian corridors along creeks and rivers.
The Red Clay Creek is in bad condition.
In its current state it is inaccessible, ecologically degraded, and overlooked. It has undercut/eroded streambanks, invasive species and deer browse, and infrastructure/utility damage.
